The Pacific Northwest’s Cascade Range is home to some of our planet’s most pristine and beautiful landscapes. Its vast horizons spark the human spirit like few places still can in the United States. Washington state is home to three National Parks, over one-hundred-forty state parks, and one hundred-eighty-six named glaciers. The three images submitted were taken in a Cessna over the North Cascades National Park and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. These selected landscapes highlight the fragility and undeniable beauty of Cascadia. During 2024 and 2025 I spent dozens of hours in the air, hiked hundreds of miles throughout the remote backcountry, and documented the landscapes extensively. Scorched by flames, drained of federal aid, and nearly 5.4 million acres of public land sold off by our very own President’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” it's obvious the Cascades are in chaos. A haze of uncertainty lurks on the horizon. It is more important than ever to demand your opinions are heard by policymakers—no voice is too small. This public land is not for sale. We must keep the West wild.
